A showcooking with Carlos Maldonado to champion European Avocado
As part of the activities developed in Spain by the “European Avocado and Mango: Fruit with Heart” campaign, the collaboration with Mediaset made it possible to bring the values of European avocado to a highly visible and accessible format for the public. The initiative was shaped around a televised cookery demonstration hosted by brand ambassador chef Carlos Maldonado, in which food became the vehicle for talking about flavour, wellbeing, freshness and a healthy lifestyle.
Carlos Maldonado presented the European avocado produced in Spain as a versatile, seasonal product, highlighting aspects such as its freshness, its ideal ripeness, and its ability to slot naturally into simple yet very appealing recipes.
The cookery demonstration featured three familiar faces from Mediaset Spain who joined the chef in preparing a range of dishes. Flora González made wholemeal avocado toast with tomato, soft cheese and anchovy alongside Carlos Maldonado; Jano Mecha took part in preparing an avocado salad with mixed greens, soft cheese, walnuts and pomegranate; and Alba Lago joined in creating an avocado tartare with smoked salmon, tomato and parmesan.
Beyond the food itself, the avocado was presented as a product aligned with an active lifestyle, following the contribution of Antonio Carpintero, Manager of Intertropic, who encouraged those present to embrace the deal at the heart of the campaign: “You take care of you, it takes care of you.”
